Creating your own surface templates

The built-in surface library covers the common stuff — walls, ceilings, doors, windows, soffit, fascia, roofs, and more. But every painter has their own speciality. Decorative ironwork. Rendered brick fences. Pergolas. Timber cladding. You can add these as custom surface templates once, then drop them into any quote with a tap.

Where to add them

Open Business Settings and scroll to Your Surfaces. Tap + Add surface and fill in:

Using them on a job

When scoping an area, your custom surfaces appear as pills in the surface picker alongside the built-ins, filtered to the area type (internal or external). Tap to add — your pre-set defaults apply instantly.

Why it matters: the surfaces you paint most are also the ones you waste the most time re-configuring. Five minutes spent saving a template now saves you hours across the next year's quotes.
Tip: don't try to template every possible surface on day one. Add a template the second time you find yourself manually configuring the same thing. You'll build a tailored library naturally, one job at a time.
