The quote readiness review
The readiness review runs automatically between "build the quote" and "send the quote". It looks at everything you've captured and flags anything that would make the quote inaccurate or risky. You can fix each flag in place without leaving the review.
Cards you might see
- After-hours labour split — if the assessment mentions restricted hours, the card prompts you to set the after-hours percentage
- Blended downtime — if there's significant access setup or travel, the card suggests an hours-weighted downtime factor
- Colour schedule — captures per-surface colour choices so there's no mid-job confusion. "Apply to all matching" propagates instantly
- Scaffold / elevated work platform — flags if hire looks needed but isn't in the quote
- Travel distance — if the site is more than 50 km away, prompts you to factor travel
- Accommodation — for sites over 150 km, suggests an accommodation line if the crew needs to stay over
- Significant defects — double-checks that you've applied Heavy prep where it should be
- Project management overhead — for complex multi-building jobs, prompts a PM line
- Occupied building — prompts you to think about access restrictions and protection
How the cards work
Each card is actionable. A colour schedule card, for example, lets you type brand + colour per surface right there, and "apply to all matching" propagates to every surface sharing the same type. You don't bounce around the app.
Stamped on the quote
When you complete the review and send the quote, Surfacely stamps who reviewed it and when. That's both a discipline mechanism (someone has to tick off the check) and an audit trail if questions come up later.
Why it matters: the readiness review is a checklist built from the mistakes painters make most often. Even experienced estimators forget things when they're tired. A 30-second review catches the things that would otherwise cost you a day.
