Deleting quotes, proposals and crew briefs
Sometimes you build a draft you don't end up using — a quote you re-did, a proposal that went a different way. You can clear those out without worrying that one wrong tap loses something you needed.
What you can delete
From inside a project you can delete a draft or unsent quote, proposal, or crew brief — tap the bin icon on the item and confirm. It comes off the project straight away.
Deleting isn't instant-and-gone
When you delete one of these, it doesn't vanish for good that second. It drops out of the project but is kept quietly in the background for 30 days before it's permanently removed. That grace period is your safety margin — an accidental delete isn't a disaster, because the record still exists during that window.
Why a grace period: the same reason your phone's photos and your email have a recently-deleted folder — people fat-finger the bin, and "gone forever the instant you tap it" is a cruel way to run software.
What you can't delete — on purpose
Once a job is committed, the records behind it are locked so a slip of the thumb can't wipe something you've agreed or billed. You can't delete:
- An accepted quote or proposal — acceptance is a "we agreed" moment, so it stays put.
- A sent or paid invoice — money you've billed is part of your permanent record.
- A shared crew brief — once it's gone to the crew, it's committed.
- A project that's in progress or complete.
If you need to walk back an accepted quote, that's a different path — you raise a variation, or use the reject-and-recreate flow, rather than deleting the original.
